Well done!

Considering the set backs this year - I feel quite justified too even if I fell far short of 50K

But....... best thing about this year's NaNo....... my lovely little inspirational cartoon booklet arrived today.

It's fabulous Hannah! Beautifully done and so very topical for us. It's almost a shame that I won't be working at this place this time next year otherwise I'd make everyone near me read the cartoons in October just to get...

Aaaw, almost the middle though!!

I am at 60 pages, but no ending yet. That may actually take quite a bunch more pages.. maybe I can actually split the damn book in two different books by the time I am done! :-D

Only one film - but the sky was full of dust so I scurried home and slept away the afternoon.
Then I managed to procrastinate for the whole day yesterday.
Only made 22500 by the end of the time.

I know I won't make the full 50,000 words, but I haven't given up entirely. I'm just over 20,000 so hope to make it to the half way point and give myself a good start on next year with all the character backstories in place and ready for action.

Maybe you had the Mexican/ Swine flu. I have seen lots of people here that just felt weak for a few days with a nasty cold or cough but without any fever while their spouses that fall ill the same day had high fevers. So there are people that go through the flu that way as well.
I think maybe that may have happened to me as well. In October I had some nasty stomach...

This time it was a sore throat that became a sinus condition with a nasty cough that laid me low. Probably partially stress/work related as much as the wildly changing temperatures. But I did start late because of the film festival wiping out two weekends and several weekday nights as well.

The extra bedrest has helped my back a lot. And it did worry me for a while that the coughing spasms might throw it out while it was still weak.

And I'm certain you will make it too Hannah - but how do you verify non-text content?

I, on the other hand have resigned to not making it this year, again. Work and sickness, and starting late, have not helped. The notebook is working out great - particularly when I'm not all that well and am sitting in bed - like now. I have been able to do up to 1000 words at lunchtime some days, but I have been too exhausted too follow up at...

Why? because of the ears? Just take a nosespray and use it just before take-off and landing. That will help. They are only addictive if you use them for more than 5-7 days in a row. But if you keep to that they are not dangerous and they can bring you a world of relief during a cold!

Ahhh, that's right--I forgot about the green-to-purple color change. I can still verify it on the 25th--Danny's brother will let me pop on the computer for a few minutes. I just have to email the document to myself as an attachment so I can cut-and-paste it into the verification box on NaNo. (Which reminds me--I'd better save it in text format--I don't know if he has Word 2007 on his computer, so the .docx file might not...

Oh, I can taste it now. I went on a writing binge around 9:30 tonight--49,028 total.

It's WAY past my bedtime, though, and I don't want to start mucking up the ending, but I'm this f'n close to the end.

Almost 45K? WOW! It usually only took me 1 day to reach 50 once I crossed 45.. you can smell it from there.. you an almost taste it! GO TINA GO!!!

I got stuck on Friday night and only got in literally about 100 words...but after two big pushes yesterday and today, I'm now up to 44,865! I just need to figure out the logistics of how to fit all the pieces together that I've created along the way, and after that, it's just a matter of about 1300 words per night and I'll be done by the 20th as planned.
