I think he is standing a bit too close to the other equipement here maybe? Although that soundguy (is he the gaffer?) is holding up the mic..
Maybe he is acting the 'nerdy' character at the begin of the movie.. he sure looks like an office prick.. (or is that a Duhtc saying? )

I think he's reacting to something. I also noticed the pecs and I think that's one of the wardrobe ladies. As for him being a nerd in this. Well, yeah,
he is but turns into a real tough guy near the end. Or that's how it was in the comic book
