Newbie Posts: 9 29/04/2008 02:49:44	Hey sxpnce, I have sort of a backwards way of doing it haha.. there is not one program that does all the steps. I capture it with Fraps (it's used mostly for video capturing, but it does good screencaps as well), then resize with Visualiser Photo Editor (best for batch resizes) and crop it in Paint. If you have Photoshop, you can do the last two steps there.. I need to reinstall mine, but before I do, I'm stuck with Paint, which by the way works just fine for cropping. I think 'print screen' works just as well for screencaps, it just takes a little more time.

Owns spare key to the front door Posts: 626 29/04/2008 02:53:58	Or... you could download this program called Photoscape from downloads.com (free full program).... and they have an option called screen capture. All you do is pause whatever scene you want... click on the capture screen, window, or area button and Voila!! Then you can crop as you please and save it in any format you want. (jpg, etc.). Pretty awesome! They even have a animated gif option where you can drag and drop photos to make an animated picture or avatar (like mine!) I'm a novice when it comes to this stuff... put this program makes it a breeze. But I must warn you... it is not for the advanced.

Videos online and watching DVDs and video clips on your pc. A little window just floats on your desktop when you're in the screen capture mode... and you just go about as you please... and when you want that picture... just click.

By the way: to make screen caps of video and DVD material you have off-line, either look up the help files of your DVD watching software (because most software will have this ability)

Or you can download the Video Lan Player. This is open source freeware. Which means it is free but of high quality, new versions are posted all the time, bugs are fixed in no time and the greatest thing about it: IT WILL PLAY EVERY FILETYPE FOR VIDEO AND AUDIO!!

To make a screencapture, (pause your film at the moment you wish you capture and) right click on the film window and you will get a menu that will say 'screencapture' somewhere at the bottom. Works great!

This question isn't about screen capping... but I thought it's along the same lines. I've read through out the board that some of you guys are able to download youtube videos and save them to your computer?? How do you do that?? Is there a special program you use. Right now... I'm only "bookmarking" them on youtube. Thanks!
