I don't know how Orbit works in IE because I usually use Firefox or Safari...
Anyway that's how I use it with Firefox.
If you are on Youtube, You don't need to open Orbit: you can just click, with the left, on the grey and white arrow, above the video window, and Orbit window automatically opens and checks for the URL, then it asks you where to save the video and that's all.
With other website, for example the ones with Flash videos and so on, I suggest you to open Orbit and Grab window before playing the video or the music you'd like to download. You can see all the files available to download in the Grab window and you can choose the flv for video or mp3 for music.
Everytime there is something you can download with Orbit on the page you're reading, you can see the grey and white arrow.
