Actually Mylan, those are only the festival passes. The individual ticket prices aren't released until next week, I believe on the 20th?
Unless you are planning to see a whack load of films at the film festival, I wouldn't suggest you to buy the passes.  Just a heads up.

I don't know if James will be there. I was kind of thinking the same thing.... you know, with him being filming TLS and all. Maybe we'll have to wait
and see if his presence will be confirmed. The Cannes Film festival kicks off today. Wanted will be featured there as well... and I believe that it
was confirmed that Angie and Brad Pitt will be there. With her being pregnant and all... I'm guessing James will do the majority of the public appearances
for this movie. But who really knows.

If it opens today, the opening gala is probably already happening as we speak (it's 9.30 pm in Cannes now), so we
will know if he was there are not by tomorrow or maybe vene later this night when pics start to turn up at the usual photo-sites.
I would love to go to Cannes during the festival one day..

The opening was on the news just now. It was a different film though, so no James sightings.
And Getty Images has lots of opening photo's up, but this is what I get in search: 0 results found for - cannes james mcavoy |

James should be at the premiere of Wanted in L.A. I don't know if the L.A. film festival site is anything like the Toronto one, but they list all the
celebrities confirmed to attend. Plus, the Wanted premiere has been confirmed for a while, so I don't see why he wouldn't come...if he is still filming
towards the end of June some films allow actors to go promote their film for like a day as long as they're back the next filming day type of thing.
I don't remember hearing about James appearing at Cannes. Only Angelina. Btw, the individual tickets should include all films. It does for TIFF. Opening Gala is really just a title, it's no different from any other film that gets a gala premiere.

I hope he comes to the LAFF. Some friends have been bugging me to visit them since they've moved out to California.... and if I go, I'll make sure to
plan it around that date.
 But I won't have anyone to go with. This type of event is probably not something they'd be interested in, especially if
they found out why I'm going. The LAFF website didn't appear to have a list of confirmed guests. I'll re-check... but I didn't see anything
like that.

I made a bit of a mistake with my ticket dates. May 21 is when the ticket passes go on sale and June 2 is when the individual tickets go on sale. Sorry
for the mix-up!

As a volunteer, do you get to choose where you volunteer? I wouldn't think they'd let you hand-pick that.
For example, the Toronto Film Festival has a number of different screening rooms and areas within those rooms that aren't necessarily near the red carpet or in a theatre. Welcome to the board, btw, Gina.

No, you don't get to choose where you volunteer, but I was already
assigned. Thankfully, I'll be helping set up for the Wanted premiere and Hellboy II: The Golden Army
premiere. I don't think I'll actually be able to watch the premiere since I'll be busy helping, but I will be in that area.

Regarding the Cannes Film Festival, I do not think WANTED is in fact being shown. When the official selection was announced, I reviewed it and unless
something has been modified--WANTED should not be there, either in competition or special screenings.
Angelina is there for two other films.... Kung Fu Panda, and something else. |

Yeah.... you're right. I went back to look at the film schedule and didn't see it there. Maybe when I read it... it was talking about how Angie was
going to be there... and in the same line mentioned her new movie, Wanted, not actually saying it was going to premiere there.
Gina... Even though you may not get to see the movie, I would think it would be a fun experience just to be a part of something like that. Let us know how it goes!

Yeah, I just got back from the meeting and everyone was SO nice! I was suprised because they asked everyone where they would be interested in working. They were going to try their hardest to put us there. They wanted us to enjoy ourselves as much as possibe. Thankfully, I was already assigned, but everyone wanted to work the parties/receptions, so I think I would've been assigned there anyway. They mentioned "Wanted" and James McAvoy and I got so excited. I'll keep you updated! Maybe I'll get some pictures and post them on here! |
