I think that maybe James himself likes strange photoshootings like these (with crazy gloves and masks and stuff).
He doesn't enjoy doing photo sessions that much, so maybe playing around with other possibilities makes him feel less bored. I like the glove and the jedi hood and all the weird stuff. But "back to bare basics" is good enough for me, too!
