I picked up my copy today as well. Its still in my bag too since I didn't get home until 10pm.
Was happy to see the price rather cheap, since tomorrow I expect the price to
go up at least $4-5. I love having a metropass for the subway. It allowed me to go East to get info about Arena then head back West to downtown area to go to
HMV then back to work all in about an hour! haha

I saw this two weeks ago and bought it for myself last week. It's a great story as well as a great cast.

Mylan, the only extras are "The making of a modern fairy tale" that talks about making Penelope. A sneak peak at Twilight and a
preview for a new animated film.
I wish some standard extras would be bloopers and deleted scenes. They always make the dvd extras better.

TX....Those are amazing!!! Thank you so much for posting! Now, why couldn't they put those on the DVD?
They could do a nice commentary or two and be done w/ it. Would that have been too hard?!? Do I ask too much

I saw it for the first time last night. I thought it was cute, CR did such a great job as Penelope, and James, of course. I also really liked her mother,
Catherine O'Hara. I thought the characters needed a bit more development, but it was light, cute, and funny. I am going to go back and watch Max singing
'You are my sunshine'. Adorable!!

Ok, so, after the 1st time I watched it, I thought it was cute and I didn't think I would put it up on the same level, as say, LKOS or Atonement. But,
I've watchd it a few times and it is really growing on me. No, it's not Oscar quality like the other two...To think that James wasn't even known
really when this was filmed and was unknown even to the producer...he didn't have any expectations to live up to yet He plays every part so well, he puts
so much feeling, intensity etc into everything.
I am truly amazed at his talent. AND he's a nice guy. Although sometimes I wonder if it's the real person I like or just his characters that he plays....but I don't think that a big jerk in real life can play such good hearted people so sincerley (Tom Cruise, for example...he doesn't have me fooled!) Just thought I'd share

Ok finally saw Penelope today. Cute movie and like how it was different sort of fairy tale. I think would be very empowering to young girls (or grown women for
that matter). Contentment can not always be found in a prince charming.

I thought the moral of the story was (despite being a bit lame) brought quite well in this film.

I watched this yesterday... and just as I figured, I didn't like it. At all. There was nothing redeemable about this movie. Not even James with that horrid
hair could save it. Well, I guess I liked the styling of the movie - the set design and characters' wardrobes. Other than that, I felt that this movie
offered nothing to the viewer. I didn't care for the 'love' between Max and Penelope, it didn't make me laugh, cry, empathize with the
characters, it was just blah. It felt very empty.
I think it was a mistake on James' part to be in this... he can do so much better than that. I'm pretty sure this is his worst movie to date. Yes, even Bollywood Queen is better than this movie.. at least it was actually somewhat entertaining and made me laugh (maybe not in the ways it intended), which is not something I can say about Penelope. And that hair... that horrible horrible hair. Let's not speak about it ever again.

The relationship between Max and Penelope does come across as empty. They barely know each other and yet the audience is expected to care about their "romance" after they've only chatted on-screen for about 10 minutes?!

The second one, at 2:29, the woman fixing James hair - what I wouldn't do to replace her.... and she is getting paid to do so? Once again, sorry, Qwerty, this haircut totally does it for me... And the way he thanks her, boy, this guy is so sweet, my heart can take it...
