I've smelled it and it wasn't really what I expected... but maybe it really suits James. I found it to be a 'traditional' smell.. and it was
strong, but it may very well work for him.

Theresa - thanks for finding that article. Hannah was right about the age in an earlier post. Mea Culpa.
What were the last books you bought? Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks, which is fantastic. I've read it twice. You know you have it bad when you read a book just because James read it. It has a love story between a young man and an "older, married
woman" which is very hot. And he read it TWICE!
Unfortunately, the other 75% is about the trench war fare during WWI which makes the war scenes in the Atonement book look pale by comparison. But I could very easily see James playing the part, if anyone needs a "fix" between now and Last Station comes out. |

He seems to like that theme. One of his favourite movies is Class with Jaqueline Bisset, who gets it on with a young Andrew McCarthey. Hmmm.

Maybe that's because AM is older then he is!
...you get all excited that you found Details magazine and your mother buys it because you're broke!

You know you've got it bad for James when you take your kids to see The Waterhorse and all you can do is grin because:
1. It's set in Scotland 2. It takes place during WWII and there are military uniforms that remind you of Robbie Turner. 3. In a dinner scene, officers are wearing kilts. 4. The accents. It was a really nice movie and the kids enjoyed it, but it made me long to be down the hall watching Wanted again.

I had a similar reaction to Maid of Honour, sxpnce. The Scottish segment is to die for. *sigh*

I know what you mean Paula. I watched Made of Honor and while Patrick Dempsey is good looking, I found myself thinking of our Jamesieboy

...when you're sitting in class and a guy references Leo Tolstoy in connection to some figure in Canadian History and you go beyond and make your own
connection... Leo Tolstoy=Valentin=JAMES!!!

You know you have it bad for him when...
I took my kids to the park today and there were two other children playing named Cecelia and Robert. (I could not make this up if I tried). I just sat there, watching all the kids play and grinned quietly to myself

I wonder if the parents had Atonement in mind when they names their kids that.

wow, sx! I wonder if they were named after them in the book or just a fluke! It's cute though!

The kids were a bit older, so it would have to be the book I'd assume. It was just so odd. When the Mom called the girl, who was around 7, and she said,
"Cecelia" I just thought, "there is a name you don't hear to often for this age of child". Then, as she was leaving, and she called her
son, "Robbie", I just froze! And of course, thought of James

I would think that had something to do with the novel. I mean.... to name your kids Robbie and Cecelia?? That's too much of a coincidence, I think. And
Atonement is a highly acclaimed novel, so there's a good chance she's read the book.

Yes, it's too much of a coincidence...and Cecilia isn't a very common name nowadays, really.
So cute!

You know you've got it bad for him when ..... you hear/see the word "Scotland/Scottish" in any conversation you've pick up, on the T.V, at
the bookstore or anywhere else --you immediately think of James
"Art washes away from the soul-- the dust of everyday life."

Ohhhh sooo true. I think we are all right there with you on that one, Artbox. Has anyone else seen the commerical with the good looking man dressed in suit coat and tie, going up the escalator while a woman going down the escalator
gives him the eye and a "knowing smile". And then when he gets off the escalator you, the viewer, sees that he has on a kilt with a suit jacket. My
mind wanders to another kilted man... |
