Two more mutants that they could use are Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, who are Magneto's twins. (Ok, I admit to being a X-Men geek! ) No matter what, they need a female X-men. Not Moira (although I like Moira), but a female to put some XX chromosomes within the X-men team! I think Polaris sounds interesting, but I wouldn't want anyone related to Magneto. Too convenient. If they skipped that little fact, then sure. And maybe a very young Storm--I actually love this idea, especially if she doesn't know how to use her powers very well and accidentally causes some weather issues in NY.

A: X-Men First Class – Project is still in progress and will come up soon. The first figure will be Professor X. Apparently these are going to be real collectibles. I saw prices for Hot Toys figures going from $179-$750. The quality looks good judging by this figure of Tom Hiddleston as Loki in The Avengers: http://www.comicbookmovie...ilbiter111/news/?a=59952 So yep, it looks like James is going to have his own action figure!!!

They usually sell in limited number (1000 or 20000 pieces if I remember right) They will probably do Charles with interchangeable flight suit and his Professor outfit... Ohh, imagine having to dress and... Ahem.... undress Charles/James..... I sounds so weird, lol!

I've read at least one interview where Fassy was talking about how he wanted there to be more focus on Charles in the XM:FC sequel, and another one from James talking about him putting in his ideas for the movie as well. Personally, I don't mind a good deal of attention to Magneto--I really like that character--but Charles needs time to shine now. His conflict in the first movie was about him wanting for humans to know mutants exist and to be accepted by humanity, but through the film, you get the impression that his own idealism makes him believe that, by stopping Shaw, humans will accept mutants without question. It's certainly a conflict, but not nearly as dramatic as Erik who has a personal hatred of Shaw, was tortured by Shaw and his mother killed by Shaw. Erik had a personal stake in the whole issue and then on top of that, also had this conflict of humans accepting mutants. In the next movie, Shaw is dead and Erik has accepted his role as the new anti-human mutant leader. He's gone through his journey. Now, look at Charles--in the last ten minutes of the first movie, he loses all the people close to him (Erik, Raven and Moira) and loses his ability to move or feel the lower half of his body. And in addition to that, his faith in mankind has to be shaken, considering the fact that the humans tried to murder him and the others. Who has the bigger conflict lined up for the sequel? I mean....duh.

And I always go back to James saying that Vaughn had a "fantastic" idea for Charles in the sequel. Fingers crossed!

Kinberg did work on the XMFC script too so that's good. Simon Kinberg only produced the movie, Goldman, Stentz and Miller were the ones that wrote it and Vaughn re-wrote some of script while filming. I suspect he will do the same with the new script.

'X-Men: First Class' & 'Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes' Sequels Set For Summer 2014 Ironically, some of us were just having this conversation this morning. Would 20th Century Fox rush its "X-Men: First Class" sequel into production like they did in 2010 for its 2011 release (there was about an eight-month window to shoot and edit the picture and the film suffered because of it, but miraculously wasn't a total disaster)? The answer, thankfully, is no. Fox has set July 18, 2014 as the release date for their untitled sequel to "X-Men: First Class." Original director Matthew Vaughn will be on board once again with all of the original cast, including Micheal Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult and many more (they all signed multi-picture deals after all). That should give them plenty of time to write a proper screenplay and not a mediocre one that the cast has to elevate (which was the case with the original). I know it's hard to wait for summer 2014, but if they're not starting filming until January or later, I think this makes sense considering how much post-production work will need to be done. XMFC was good despite the inhumane production and post-prod schedule. I think the sequel deserves to be treated with more deliberation and care. And keep in mind--the production schedule had to be pushed back from fall 2012 to winter 2013 due to Jennifer Lawrence's Hunger Games schedule. Otherwise, we might have seen it November-December 2013--though I think that's questionable since The Wolverine is scheduled to be released July 2013. I know it's hard to wait for 2 years for the sequel, but I think this schedule is best. XMFC was good despite the inhumane production and post-prod schedule. I think the sequel has earned more deliberation and care this time. (And remember it's Jennifer Lawrence's schedule conflict that pushed this back.) BTW They're releasing The Wolverine July 2013. And we'll have 3-4 McAvoy films to watch in the meantime--depending on when they release Eleanor Rigby. Thanks for the info, LoveJames. I guess I'm still not too concerned about the script quality since Matthew Vaughn, Jane Goldman (and even Bryan Singer) are all on the case. And there's plenty of time to fix up the script between now and January. Miraculously, it actually turned out pretty well, earning strong reviews, a whole lot of money, and of course, the inevitable plans for a sequel. As rushed as they were to make the first one, though, 20th Century Fox has been taking their time putting together the First Class sequel, and in early April they announced they'd wait even longer, starting production in January of next year to accommodate the schedule of star Jennifer Lawrence, who will be shooting the Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire this fall. Now, as you might guess, Fox has finally set a release date for the still-untitled film, but it's giving them a little more time to finish it this time around. The update at Box Office Mojo says the First Class sequel will come to theaters July 18, 2014, giving returning director Vaughn a much more reasonable 18 months from the start of production to release. We don't know a whole lot else about the film, except that it will focus even further on the development of Magneto (Michael Fassbender) as the villain, and that other stars like James McAvoy, Zoe Kravitz, Rose Byrne and Nicholas Hoult are all likely to reprise their roles. Yikes, another article that's stirring up the Magneto-centric sequel. I'm starting to agree with Cris and others that the outlook for this might not be what I was hoping for, either. And I think it's funny that while Charles' character played just as important a role in the first movie as Erik (the two characters' story arcs bouncing off each other), James McAvoy's name is listed like he was in a supporting role instead of the other lead. Not upset with MF about this, but WOW--it's called "X-men" and last time I checked, Magneto wasn't an X-man anymore in the movie-verse. Edit: Reduced quoted material to conserve space in thread.
