According to two technical services in two different computer stores it cannot be the monitor. Both VGA cards were attached to different slots so it cannot be the slot. It may all be a huge coïncidence.. I may also be that my motherboard is shorting out for some reason and in both cases this happened it was the VGA card instead of another part of the PC that gave out (also a huge coïncidence.. )

So I found a free VGA card (another ancient one) that I am going to pick up later today (providing the weather stays, because it is a 5 km bike ride) so I can at least look in the BIOS to see if the voltages are the way they should be. Then I am going to use that VGA card for a while and if that one breaks down as well, I am going to put in a new feed or whatever you call that thing that the power goes into on a PC.. Eventhough I am still not sure if that is the culprit..

I could almost adapt this story into a mystery screenplay...
