I imagine the quote in blue would be referring to a past experience. Why would she verbalize something that "harsh" about the man she's married to? Surely he would read it. She could also be relating a friend or family member's feelings about their relationship(s).

How any woman could consider having James as a partner "a failure" is beyond me! image

Well... she does also mention in the same interview that she's envious of James because he knows how to work a film set.
I still think she's talking about James, but she could also be referring to David Tannant. James and David are both very charismatic, more outgoing, and much better known than she is. And it's not the fact that she considers having him (whoever he may be) as a partner a failure, but she says she feels incompetent or as a failure when she's next to him in public or when she's compared to him. I guess she doesn't feel "worthy" of being with someone like that.

That's my interpretation. And even if she is talking about DT, I doubt those feelings somehow magically disappeared as soon as she got together with James.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Btw, isn't it sad (I'm not being sarcastic) that AM does not have any fansites? Even that site that mariposa posted does not have a single member. image

Yeah, that is sad. I have never seen her in anything but an episode of Shameless on YouTube, and it's hard to tell how well-rounded of an actress she is just from that, but from the little I saw she seems to be very good. And I seem to remember somewhere in interview James was raving about how good an actress he thinks she is and how she's an inspiration to him..or similar such words. But I think it's even more sad that, if indeed she is talking about James, and it appears to me that she probably is, that she feels so insignificant next to her husband. And the part about living with Mr. Perfect, that really makes me wonder in what context she is using it. It almost sounds sarcastic. So I wonder if she means HE thinks he's perfect, or does she mean in the eyes of the world he's perfect, referring to the admiration he has received.
