I don't think she meant it to be harsh on James, they're obviously very much in love and they seem to really protect each other. I think she was just being honest in relating to how it feels to be with a man so admired by many. Sometimes you do feel invisible, and you wonder if people like you for you if it's because of him (I dated a really popular , attractive, well liked guy once I broke it off because of my insecurities). To be honest I wouldn't know anything about Ann-Marie if not for James. I didn't even know she played one of my favorite monarchs (Queen Elizabeth I) until recently. She really is a good actress, and damn lucky for being married to James.
