Ex-Beatle John Lennon's teenage Liverpool haunt on film Mar 18 2009 Liverpool Daily Post NOWHERE Boy stars have filmed outside one of John Lennon's teenage haunts in Liverpool. Acclaimed TV and stage star Anne-Marie Duff and fast-rising newcomer Aaron Johnson were photographed on set at the Woolton Picture House yesterday. Duff, who first found widespread fame in TV's Shameless before playing Elizabeth I in the BBC's The Virgin Queen, was cast in the role of Lennon's mum, Julia. Johnson, 18, will play the Beatles legend in the film which will focus on the young days of the rock artist. The movie, which also features Hollywood star Kristin Scott Thomas as John Lennon's aunt Mimi, traces the early days of the singer's rise to stardom in The Quarrymen. Friends told how Lennon frequently visited the Woolton Picture House in Mason Street, which is Liverpool's oldest remaining independent cinema. .....
