I don't think red suits her. It really ages her; now she definitely looks her age and even older. (..)

I wonder if this will be her "breakout" role, and I wonder if she'll ever really break into the American market. Personally, I tend to think 'no'. (..)

In her defense: this is a shot in full make-up and if they cast an 18 year old to play John that means she is supposed to look older! She is playing a 40-something!

And about the second quote above: What makes you think her goal (or any actors goal for that matter) would be to 'break into the American Market'..
I am not sure I understand. Or maybe that is an 'American' way of thinking?

But these people (like me) are from a different culture. James and AM seem very down to earth and all they really seem to want for themselves is to have fun doing their work and earn a comfortable living. Both of them do not seem to be actively seeking fame. And now that James has some more financial security, AM doesn't have the need to 'break through' in order to secure an income. It's all speculation though, but that is how it seems to me from where I am sitting. Of course I am looking through the eyes of my culture, and fame doesn't mean a lot here.

Roberto Benigni is an excellent example. He 'broke through' in the US with La Vita รจ Bella, but Paula said he disappeared of the screen again. That is because he is already very famous comedian in Italy and he already had a secure income as such in his home country. So why try to break through in the US if you are already doing just fine where you are?
