It's just because the U.S. is such a major market. I can't help but think, somewhere in the past few years, James has been advised by his agents to break into that market - Wanted and Wanted 2 being the vehicles. They are blockbuster films with famous American actors. Did he really just take the role of Wesley so that he could "be a sixteen year old"? I'm not so sure.

Breaking into certain markets is a formula. I think what breaking into the American market does is give the actor's career more scope. It's a huge demographic. It allows them to reach a certain degree of fame wherein they can pick and choose projects - or decide not to do anything at all for a period of time. James is smart though. He could sit and wait for the next big offer or he can do what he's been doing - a low-key film like The Last Station and theatre. Keeps him interested - and interesting. image
