I can't believe you were there and we didn't see each other! I was off to the left of the tent. Yes, Emily and Rupert were lovely. I wasn't doing the autograph thing but when Rupert came up to us I said, "Welcome to Toronto" and smiled at him. He smiled back and said, "Thank you very much. It's nice to be here." I find nobody really talks to them when they come by - they just shout their names until they come by or say nothing. The same with James at the stage door. When I was there nobody said anything to him so I piped up and told him congratulations on a great performance and how much I loved the play, etc, etc..
I was quite delighted to see how friendly Sarah Ferguson was. When she got out of the car, she didn't hesitate to walk all the way down to the end of the line and start signing autographs and posing for pictures. Her daughters are so lovely.
Here's the best of what I got last night: Sarah, Beatrice and Eugenie
Rupert Friend Emily Blunt So, that's it for TIFF. Oprah Winfrey's movie, Precious, won the People's Choice award. I didn't see it, so I can't say whether it deserved it or not. Of the six films I saw, the ones I liked the most were Michael Sheen in The Damned United, Ricky Gervais' The Invention of Lying (which had me crying because I was laughing so hard), and Michael Moore's Capitalism:A Love Story.
