This is very interesting. Though I'm wondering, if people have waited for the movie to come on DVD, what is a few more weeks? I also wonder how it will effect the Cable channels as well - Pay Per View / On Demand.

My friends who have children rarely ever go to the Movies, they say it's too expensive. They wait till the movies come out on DVD and most will wait for the Rentals (all use Netflix). They have parties, with each family taking their turn to "host". They go to Costco and buy snacks in bulk and really have a good time.

Many of them enjoy this for the kids that they are now doing it for the grown ups.

In addition for those who have "home theaters" in their houses - which some are small screening rooms LOL! They are going to stay home to use their big beautiful flatscreens and comfy home chairs. Smoke if they want, eat what they want and drink what they want.

Just not sure how much of an impact it is going to have? Especially with Netflix's keep them as long as you want no additional costs policy. One can watch at their convenience and as often as they want.
