Jan Frycz plays a major role in Polish-Irish production of "Sanctuary" directed by 35-year old Nora McGettigan. The film, according to the plans of developers, is to hit cinemas in 2012.

"The question to which we seek answers in this film are what life is found in a safe space. Is such a space can be such a big house, and seem to think some people?" - Norah McGettigan told PAP on Thursday.

Reyserka, born in 1976 in Donegal in Ireland, is a graduate of the State Higher School of Film, Television and Theatre School in Lodz and Wajda in Warsaw. "Sanctuary" is her full-length feature debut.

The film - which co-producer on the Polish side is Wajda Studio in Warsaw - McGettigan performs under his own [directs her own?] screenplay, written jointly with the Colombian Gabriel Vargas Vasquez. Norwegian photography is Matzow Marius Gulbrandsen.

The main hero of this moral story is played by Jan Frycz. It's a rich man's success. One day a man loses his wife and his way of looking at life has changed.

Put in a new situation, the hero initially wants to escape from problems. But he must face, among others a difficult relationship with his daughter. Does the man - who had earlier seemed to be afraid of "life simple life" - will find new hope for themselves, as it turns out for him, really safe place in life - including, above, along with the heroes of the film, viewers will wonder.

"We live now in times of very rapid pace. Often we do not have time to focus on the simplest of things" - points out McGettigan.

As the director told PAP, a very important role to play in this history and nature, the film will be a lot of animals. One of the translations of the English word "sanctuary" is a shelter, a protected area for animals.

The image was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. Irish manufacturer is Venom. The cast, alongside John Frycz, there will be actors from Ireland, UK and Polish, among them British Anne-Marie Duff and Pole Agnieszka Zulewska. McGettigan screenplay was developed under the project "Screen" in the Wajda School.
