I'll be copying info that has been posted in other sections (Film Festivals) and put them here. I'll do this over the next couple of days. So there will be lots of "edits" in this post. If you should find any information - please feel free to post them here!

How and Where to find information.
There are several ways here are a few:
Do a search on what it is you are looking for, like you would for any subject you wanted more information about. Once you found it and decide you want to be updated on a regular basis (as it happens, daily, weekly, etc) you can add it your Favorites/Bookmark it. Or you could use a Widget/Gadget (interface tool) that your Search Engine, Internet Provider or what ever your Home Page offers. Usually they will have it in Tools.
Example: if you have Google as your home page - use a Widget/Gadget which will give you a view of that particular page ever time when you log on. Depending on how many W/G's you use (weather, horoscope - etc.), will depend on what size and position you have it on your page.
and/or
"Alerts" such as Google Alerts - www.google.com which will research the Internet for you and "Alert" you if any information is found in YOUR search Criteria. You do have to Register and Login to create your criteria. It's free and is useful, but you will get everything emailed to you that contains what is in your search criteria tag. You may want to open a free "gmail account" (google mail) if you don't want your personal email account getting bogged up.
Most Search Engines, and even Internet Provider Accounts will give you free email accounts and make "Alerts" available to you. You have to check your account services.
Suggestion - set up a good criteria, you may want to be specific if the word in your criteria is a common one...
Groups, Newsthreads, RSS Feeds - signing up on Websites to have them "automatically" send you news when it comes in. IE8 has a Feeds tab in the browser toolbars which you can just click on and have view all your Feeds together. Or they simply will email them to you like an alert. You will have to Register and/or Subscribe.
Twitter, Facebook and MySpace, Digg it, Blogs (etc.) If you come across an article - look over the page for icons for these threads, like we have here on our Main Page.
For an Example:
JMMB's Main Page Hannah has put both the Twitter and Facebook Icons in the Sidebar so viewers can click on either and automatically will be redirected to JMMBs account where you can log in and "Follow" in Twitter or "Join/Request Friend" in Facebook. Also on the bottom of our main page you can click on "Share This" (lower right corner) and a drop down menu appears offering you a choice of being redirected/Sharing this info with other social media sources.
Industry Message Boards such as IMDb
(from Wikipedia)
The IMDb website consists of one of the largest accumulations of data about films, television programs, direct-to-video products, and video games, reaching back to each medium's respective beginning. In many cases, the information goes beyond simple title and crew credit, but also includes data on uncredited personnel, production and distribution companies, plot summaries, memorable quotes, awards, reviews, box office performance, filming locations, technical specs, promotional content, trivia, and links to official and other websites. Furthermore, the IMDb tracks titles in production, including major announced projects still in development.
The database also houses filmographies for all persons, cast and crew, identified in listed titles. Filmographies include biographical details, awards listings, external links, and information about other professional work not covered by title entries in the database such as theatrical and commercial advertising appearances.
The IMDb also offers ancillary material such as daily movie and TV news, weekly box office reports, TV listings, cinema showtimes, user polls and
ratings, and special features about various movie events such as the Academy Awards. The website also has an active message board system. There are message boards
for each database entry, found at the bottom of each respective page, as well as general discussion boards on various topics.
You can view this without joining but if you want to Interact you will need to Register and the basic account is Free. IMDb Pro will give you access to more
information and you can even upload your information to be added in their Database. If you are in the field you can offer your services, post a Resume, -
etc.

Found this on IMDB about Distributors and Film Festivals
About the Film MarketsIn the film industry's yearly calendar of film events (screenings, festivals and markets), the three big international
markets are the meeting place for most buyers and sellers looking to line up the next theatrical, TV, DVD and online releases in their
territories. These markets are Cannes Marche Du Film in May, AFM/American Film Market in November, and
Berlin EFM/European Film Market in February.
