Anne-Marie Duff to portray Lennon's mother in new film Sam Taylor Wood has made her decision. Anne-Marie Duff will portray John Lennon's mother, Julia, in a film that explores the childhood and teen years of the Beatle. Ms Taylor Wood said she was drawn to the project, Nowhere Boy, because the film will explore the relationship of two sisters - Lennon's mother and his Aunt Mimi - and the conflict they had over raising the boy. Several other actresses were considered, including Kate Winslet (although she wasn't actually approached), but only Anne-Marie was offered the role, and she accepted.Ms Taylor Wood and producers at Ecosse Films are looking at several actors to play Lennon, including fast-rising Aaron Johnson, currently shooting Matthew Vaughn's film Kick-Ass.

5. Anne-Marie Duff. You may remember her as: James McAvoy's arm candy at every award show last season (they're married). Look for her: Being absolutely knock-out brilliant on DVD in Shameless and The Virgin Queen, and alongside her husband in next year's Tolstoy biopic, The Last Station.

James McAvoy's arm candy at every award show last season I always thought it's the other way around... Since I've criticised a lot of AM's fashion choices lately I thought it'd be nice to talk about the dresses that I thought were great. There aren't many... lol.. but here they are. I'd love to hear what you guys think were her best looks. Moschino Oscar gown Love this dress. It's a perfect colour for her. It's light, fresh, and vibrant. I'd totally wear it - it's gorgeous! The only thing is that it's a bit too casual for the Oscars and I would've liked the sleeves to be symmetrical. Venice Film Festival gown Another light and flowy gown. I think the long length suits her best. It's simple and classy and not too fussy.
What do you think were her best looks?

"International film director, fashion and portrait photographer Rankin has taken time out of his hectic schedule to work on a different kind of campaign. Today Women's Aid, the national domestic violence charity, launches its new domestic abuse awareness campaign under the new brand Act and Rankin has shot the striking images. Famous female celebrity faces such as Anne-Marie Duff, Fiona Bruce, Honor Blackman and Anna Friel have all participated in the campaign which hopes to emphasise the fact that domestic violence can affect every woman, no matter her age or situation. --- The head and shoulders portraits shot against a stark white background are reminiscent of the case file photographs police often record injuries to battered wives with and foreground the terrible bruising that each actress has seemingly sustained." Here's Anne-Marie's picture. It might be a bit disturbing to some, so:
