Journalist Jed Winter (Hugh Bonneville) is preparing to interview the celebrated French auteur film-maker Thierry Grimandi (Eric Cantona), a self-appointed expert on the nature of love. Jed is quick to dismiss Grimandi's theories of love and romance as pretentious nonsense, irrelevant to real people in real life relationships. But when his long-term girlfriend, Cheryl (Victoria Hamilton) refuses to marry him and instead forces him into couple counselling, Jed begins to realise that his own emotions aren't as straightforward as he once believed. Even his best friend Marcus (Douglas Henshall) wants to talk less about football and more about love as the truth about his relationship with perfect girlfriend Sophie (Anne-Marie Duff) gradually emerges...

A revered contemporary artist and photographer, Taylor-Wood's debut short film Love You More was nominated for the Palme d'Or Award at Cannes in 2008. Adapted with support from the UK Film Council's Development Fund, Nowhere Boy sheds new light on the previously untold story of John Lennon's early life and relationship with his mother and aunt. Talented newcomer Aaron Johnson will play the young Lennon, whilst Academy Award® nominated actress Kristin Scott Thomas will play Lennon's Aunt Mimi, and Anne-Marie Duff will play his mother Julia. The screenplay was written by Matt Greenhalgh, winner of the BAFTA Carl Foreman Award in 2007 for Control, and based on the book by John's sister, Julia Baird, entitled Imagine This: Growing Up With My Brother John Lennon. The film will be produced by Robert Bernstein and Douglas Rae for Ecosse Films (Brideshead Revisited, The Waterhorse, Becoming Jane) and Kevin Loader (Venus, The Mother). Nowhere Boy is an Ecosse Films production in association with Film4, the UK Film Council's Premiere Fund, NorthWest Vision and Media, Lip Sync Productions and Aver Media. The script was developed with the support of the UK Film Council's Development Fund. HanWay Films are handling worldwide sales and have pre-sold multiple territories prior to casting including acquisitions by Icon for the UK and Australia and Mars Distribution for France who will release the film in 2010. The film will commence shooting on location in Liverpool and at Ealing Studios in March. http://www.digitalartsonl...ws/index.cfm?NewsID=12148

This article is about Michael Caine but it mentions his new movie with Anne-Marie being released in the US.
Set in 1980s seaside England, "Is Anybody There?" tells the story of ten-year-old Edward (Bill Milner) whose parents have turned their house into a retirement home. While his mother struggles to keep the family business afloat and his father copes with the onset of a mid-life crisis, Edward becomes increasingly obsessed with the ghosts and afterlives of the residents when they die. Edward's is a lonely existence until he meets Clarence (Michael Caine), the latest arrival at the home, a retired magician and grieving widower who refuses to give in gracefully to old age. Their relationship begins at odds until Clarence notices that the boy is growing up even more fitfully than he is growing old. As they begin to face life together, Clarence comes to terms with his past, Edward tames his obsession with the unknown and they are both reminded of what magic is possible when life is lived to its fullest. "Is Anybody There?" was directed by John Crowley, produced by David Heyman, Marc Turtletaub, and Peter Saraf and also stars Bill Milner (Son of Rambow), Anne-Marie Duff (Notes on a Scandal), and David Morrissey (The Other Boleyn Girl). "Is Anybody There?" was screened at the Toronto Film Festival and was produced by Big Beach, Heyday Films, and BBC Films. The film will be released in New York and Los Angeles on April 17, 2009 before expanding wider.

I agree Theresa. The fact that James is proud to say he is happily married is part of what makes me like him as a person, as well as the actor. I like the idea that he has found love, knows how to give and receive love and has the maturity to commit to marriage. I *think* that because of his parents, he would not enter a marriage lightly.
I would hate reading about someone new he was being seen with every other month and how "this time it's real love". Then he would be just another talented good looking actor to me. Even he says he would not be the actor (and probably person) he is without Anne-Marie. That being said, I originally came to this page with a couple of news items about Anne-Marie.
1) Garage is showing on the Sundance Channel on 3/15 @ 1:30 PM PDT and 3/20 @ 3:30 PM PDT.
2) Here is a photo of Anne-Marie with Aaron Johnson from Nowhere Man which is filming now.
Actors Aaron Johnson, left and Anne-Marie Duff pose for photographs before a press conference to mark the start of principal photography of their new film Nowhere Boy, in Liverpool, England, Thursday March 12, 2009. Nowhere Boy recounts the never seen before story of the musician John Lennon's childhood and teenage years. Actor Johnson plays the part of a young John Lennon, while Duff plays the role of his mother, Julia Lennon. The script was developed with the support of the UK Film Council's Development Fund. And because movie production is scarce at the moment, Ecosse Films assembled a top crew including cinematographer Seamus McGarvey and his team (they also did the famous wartime beach shot in Atonement).

Ahhhh, thanks so much for posting it, Elsie, I'm officially excited for this movie now! First, because Lennon was my very first idol...I'm a late fan, only started paying attention to them in the 80's, but John had an huge impact in my life. Second, the AM/Kristin factor (an acting duel between two great actresses), plus the actor who's going to portray Lennon seems to be incredibly cool. And third, Seamus! Wow! The cinematography will surely be fantastic! Yay!
