I think it's pretty limiting to think of actors as successful only if they make it big in Hollywood. I cannot agree 100% on the age issue here. Only because I think if it's a role in a quality film, then age or beauty will not make or break it. Tilda Swinton won supporting actress for Michael Clayton - she is not your typical beauty and she is "older". (more of Tilda's awards http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0842770/awards) There are a boat load of "older" actress' not botoxed out, that have been acknowledged in the US Market. I believe AMD would only consider quality projects. But if we are talking a film based around twenty somethings, then you would be stupid not to cast the appropriate age. Hence why AMD taking on the role of Lennon's mother makes perfect sense.

James may not have know that Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman were to be cast in Wanted but it had to be known that it was going to be a major blockbuster

Maybe screechy is not the right word. On second thought, it isn't.. but I can't find anything better. All I know is that I don't like it all that much. It can be alright in small doses, but it got on my nerves in Shameless.

The one thing about age, as Qwerty mentioned, is that AMD would have a harder time in Hollywood than James since females need to be "youthful" and "hot" to be mainstream Hollywood successful for the most part. Definitely more than men. Hollywood is rubbish with it's intense focus on superficiality rather than quality or depth. Hopefully they will both eschew the machine, and focus on their art, especially given their luckiness to have increased bankability compared with thousands of other talented actors. Hopefully. But you know, it's their lives, not mine.

Her look is hard to describe, but I guess the actresses that come to mind for me are Susan Sarandon and Bette Davis. It gives real meaning to "Bette Davis eyes". I thought the comparison to Tilda Swenson was good too in the fact that they would be classified more as an "athletic type model" than a "gamine type" or "ingenue"
