I noticed him in Chronicles of Narnia and had a sense of his talent and charisma, with a hint of how cute he was even behind all that makeup. I didn't
really fall for him until Becoming Jane. Then when I saw the trailer for Atonement, it hit me hard!
It wasn't that long ago, but now I wonder how I went so long WITHOUT knowing what a wonderful man he is.

First time I saw James was in Wimbledon. I didn't like the movie - although one of my favourite actors (Paul Bettany) was in it - but I noticed
that young actor who played the small part of the main character's brother... He was so funny and really made me laugh!
When I watched Chronicles of Narnia I didn't realize that it was the same actor... I was stricken by that fawn: he was so innocent, shy, tender... When they released Atonement I had read Ian McEwan's novel two years ago, so I wondered which actor was chosen for Robbie because I think it is a difficult character to perform. I found James McAvoy's filmography on the net and... the surprise! I was shocked!
But it was with Becoming Jane that I totally fell in love with James. He's great in it!

Last King of Scotland, last Februari. When Nicky ended up in bed with the Ugandan women he had me interested, when he hit on Sarah I was in love, when he
nailed you-know-who against the rock wall I was a goner...

Well...first time obviously I saw James in Wimbledon ages ago...yes he was this crazy a bit annoying bloke but I didn't even remember him...then a while
ago I found out that amazing film was being made...Atonement
immediately ordered my mum to send me a copy of original book....and through Imdb found out who was playing who...I remember I didn't like his photo
there...and you must agree that it's really not like James...anyway saw his name at the beginning of watching Narnia...liked him there...and my book had
already arrived plus some stills could be found on the net with on set pics...so I had a pretty good insight reading this book...absolutely blew me away!!!!!!
Then I think saw The Last King of Scotland...and I already had a crush on him...plus he proved me that he is an amazingly talented actor...and that all was
gone from there really...

August 20, 2007 - the first time I saw Becoming Jane. He hit me like a ton of bricks. After seeing BJ a couple of times (in the same week), I started researching all the roles he had done and went looking for a JM fan site (didn't realize there were so many and wondered where I'd been all this time!). I hadn't seen his big film yet (LKOS) - didn't even know he was in it. I then, voraciously, started to watch (and buy) everything I could get my hands on that he'd done. I'm still not through it all. I wrote him a letter in early September. Met him and saw Atonement on September 10th at the TIFF. Have seen BJ 20 or so times and even transcribed the movie into script/book form. It would be an understatement to say I have a massive crush on this man.

Just one question Dizz.. why were you so interested in the Atonement movie if you had not read the book yet and you didn't know who was going to play in
it?

I first saw him in Shameless and I absolutely loved his and Anne-Marie's character! I also saw his name appear on the screen when I was watching Narnia
with a friend, so I looked him up at IMDB to see what other movies he had done or was about to do...I already wanted to see LKOS and because he was in it I
only wanted to see it more and it was funny he was in Wimbledon because I already wanted to borrow the dvd of a friend so it was great to see he was in that
movie too!

century or 17th...annnnnnnnyyyyyyyyywaaaaaay I knew the director Joe Wright from Pride and Prejudice and some of the cast was there as well (one of my top 3
films...) and I had read some good reviews for the book...I guess that was it... |

PaulaJoW wrote: You and I are so GONERS when it comes to Becoming Jane Paula. This movie did it for me. It totally blew my socks off......and I wasn't wearing any. I was speechless (that's hard for me to be) when I walked out of the theatre. I was just in AWE of that beautiful man, that I was oblivious to, before Becoming Jane. His mark is engraved in me...................I will see EVERYTHING his cute little body is in from now on. |
